I was approached to create a visual brand identity for the Die Cast - a new Dungeons and Dragons actual play series coming to YouTube. I wanted to find a balance between using immediately recognisable D&D symbols and standing out in a saturated market
After some research and exploration, I came up with a concept that both I and the client loved. Since the company is based in Wales and Dungeons and Dragons takes a lot of inspiration from mythology and folklore, I combined the iconic hexagonal shape of a 20 sided die with designs inspired by Celtic knotwork and the symbol of the triquetra. I also took inspiration from Art Deco as both D&D dice and knotwork involve several geometric elements
The logomark I created is striking, however it is also somewhat complex. Because of this, I also created a set of simplified versions that could be used when the logo is seen at a smaller size, such as in profile pictures or on thumbnails.

As part of a set of visual assets, I also created the accents below, combining the basic shapes of the 7 D&D dice with Celtic knotwork-inspired designs. These assets are to be used to support any further designs or promotional material the client would make such as social media posts and announcements
