I've always loved the process of rigging 2D characters, the pragmatic, problem solving mindset it requires. I started rigging in Adobe After Effects and have since moved onto more powerful tools such as Toon Boom Harmony. Here are some of my best rigs so far from various personal projects. You can see full examples of them in action below
I created Nook the little Hobgoblin in order to practice many elements of the animation pipeline, from character design to rigging, animation to composition. I've had a lot of fun with this little guy, you'll definitely be seeing more of him in the futurte.
Creating this fan art rig of York from the Youtube series Drawtectives was the most complex and challenging rig to make. The first step was converting his original illustration into a more animation-friendly design, dropping the shadows and some of the finer details. The next challenge was working with his clothes, accessories and anatomy to make them function effectively in a rig built for a more mature animated show. While the rig isn't perfect, I learned so much from the project and am still very happy with the result.

The third rig is a revamp of the After Effects rig I created for my short film trailer, Constellations. This was the first rig I started creating/recreating in Toon Boom Harmony, and the one I spent the longest time refining. Having animated this shot using the rig, making tweaks and improvements along the way, and am very proud of how it has turned out
